knits and maybe lice?

Posted on September 16th, 2009 by admin

how do i get the knits out from my hair. i used the shampoo and the comb, but they are glued to my hair? what to do please help? any remedies?

i think there is a product called knit release, you should be able to find it at wal-mart. may be a conditioner release combination. this is separate from the shampoo
make shure you are using a knit comb.
and it will still take a very long time to comb out. try to find some one to help you comb.

why cant you hang up knits?

Posted on September 12th, 2009 by admin

i was watching what not to wear and stacy said you should not hang up knits.. why?

The hanger will stretch the shoulders out. When you put it on, you will see the stretched out material sticking up from your shoulders, making it look like the hanger is still there.

Work knits and purls as they face you?

Posted on September 3rd, 2009 by admin

Okay, I am just about to knit a new scarf (cabel pattern) and the instructions say: ‘work knits and purls as they face you’.

I know about ‘k the knit sts and p the purl sts as they face you’, and also about ‘k the purl sts and p the knit sts as they face you’.

However I am confused what is meant when the instructions say ‘work knits and purls’

Does anyone know? Please?

You answered your own question. Knit the knits & purl the purls. As they face you means you do what you see.

Why do they call certain shirts "knits"?

Posted on August 25th, 2009 by admin

Like at Abercrombie & Fitch or Hollister… Or any store?
What is a knit?

most fabrics are either a "knit" or a "woven". It has to do with the way the yarns are put together to make the fabric. In a woven, the yarns are put together basicly like the way an easter basket is woven… over, under, over, under… In a knit, the yarns are… well.. knit. Like a sweater. Go to goodwill and buy a big chunky sweater on clearance. Cut out a big square of the fabric and start pulling at the yarns and unraveling it. This is the best way to learn how a "knit" is constructed. A t-shirt is a knit as well, the yarns are just lot smaller than in a sweater. The main characteristic that differentiates a knit from a woven, as far as how the fabric performs, is that a knit has stretch and a woven doesnt (unless its got spandex in it).
