Here are some electronic and handi-book options for textile
information. I think these work better than paper copies
(which really don’t exist) and in the long run, you learn more and
other people can use them. They are cheap compared to books.
You will not find websites that give the detail you probably need, but the ones given will get you started.
This is how cotton yarn is traditionally spun for Dhaka weaving.
An introduction to setting up the Schacht Flip rigid heddle loom for tablet weaving. Using the direct warping/continuous warp method and an unbroken length of yarn, the Flip can be easily warped and used to maintain tension on the warp strands for weaving long, dense bands of fabric without the use of C-clamps or an inkle loom. Using handpainted yarn allows for an unexpected but beautiful result when card weaving.
Here are further details for Matthew on weaving the coverlet – this video is not done with a stationary camera so you can see the cloth growing on the loom as I throw the shuttle each time. It also shows me advancing the warp and changing yarn on the shuttle when I run out of pattern yarn.
