what are the sewing needles with little balls of color on top called?

this question is pretty self explanatory.

stick pins or quilting pins… same thing, different length.

ETA… dress maker pins DO NOT have balls on top.

Are you talking about the color coding a needle manufacturer like Schmetz puts on its needles to help distinguish point style? See the blue band on the first needle here — that’s a very sharp point Schmetz calls microtex: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/17206792

Or are you talking about ball-headed pins, which are conventionally done with either plastic or glass heads? See: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/3830/a-pin-for-every-purpose

(btw, pins don’t have eyes — a place to insert thread for sewing; needles do. That’s the major difference.)
