It is strange, yes. Your video is great, and almost all of your comments are great and/or relevant. Someone must be on a vandal spree. It’s their prob, not yours, I guess.

Cheers, and happy knitting! I’ll try to do the same. :)

I think it must be vandal viewers! No enemies here, at least that I know of. Kind of strange, isn’t it?

I found this video very helpful in understanding how spinning works. I am a beginner knitter, and I notice that many knitters, once they become proficient, also become spinners. I never understood how wool or robing became yarn until now. Thank you!

P.S. The fact that there are so many thumbs down votes on perfectly decent comments makes me wonder if you’ve developed enemies in the knitting world (battles of the knitting world, strange to consider… :) ), or just have vandal viewers.

Hi, thank you for sharing this video, it’s excellent. A friend was describing the piece of wood and weight that I would need for this spinning technique. Thought I’d have a look on YouTube to see if anyone was showing how to do exactly, you make it look so easy, thank you!

    where do you …
where do you acquire the robing and is your finished yarn cheaper in the end this way? Do you have a sheep out back or something? Sorry, but I’m a beginner crocheter and I’m already trying to figure out how to limit the costs. I’ve also noticed some people around the web who have their own hand dyed yarn for sale. This is something I would love to start learning about if you can possibly enlighten me. Thanks sooo much!

Thanks for this – I’m an archaeology student interested in textiles and was planning on buying a spindle whorl next time I go to the yarn store for my knitting fix. I wasn’t sure whether which type to buy but I think I’ll look at some top whorl ones thanks to this video. You make very effective tutorial videos!

Excellent and very helpful tutorial. You’re the first one to show using a looped leader. What a difference to starting the roving off using the looped end. A lot less spindle dropping. Thanks much!!!
